A sweet stop While exploring the vibrant café culture of Kochi, I stumbled upon a cozy little spot called Oven. Known for its delightful range of baked goods, the café offers a perfect escape from the city’s hustle. Among the treats that caught my eye was this beautiful doughnut—golden brown, perfectly glazed, and dusted with just the right amount of sweetness. The soft lighting and rustic setting made the moment feel special, prompting me to reach for my camera and freeze it in time. Let's know some interesting things and history about this golden halo -Doughnut😋

Its origins are widely debated, but many believe doughnut-like pastries have been enjoyed since ancient times. The concept of frying dough can be traced back to early Dutch settlers in America, who brought with them a type of fried dough called olykoeks or “oil cakes.”
By the mid-19th century, doughnuts began to take their modern form. An American sailor named Hanson Gregory is credited with inventing the classic ring shape in 1847. According to legend, he punched a hole in the center of his mother’s fried dough to solve the problem of the center being under cooked while the outside was crisp.Interesting right!Doughnuts gained popularity in the United States during World War I, when Salvation Army volunteers, known as "Doughnut Lassies," served them to soldiers.

Among the photos I've taken, this one stands out as a favorite.A moment where simplicity and sweetness comes together perfectly. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your time😊
